Additional information

Parliamentary Week is a series of events and activities with the aim to improve connecting and introducing citizens of Serbia to the work of the National Assembly. The goal is to enable, through series of different events, debate on participation of citizens in democratic processes, the importance of the openness of Parliament as institution, and different forms of communication between citizens and their directly elected representatives. Parliamentary Week, for the first time in Sebia, is organized by the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, in collaboration with the Open Parliament initiative. The concept of Parliamentary Week is developed on the “Parliament Week” model, which was initiated in 2011 by the Parliament of the Great Britain. Parliamentary Week brings together partner organizations, that contribute to this event by holding one or two events that, among other things, initiate debate on the important issues, promote openness in the work of parliament, and open new channels of communication between citizens and Parliament. The only condition for participation in the Parliamentary Week is the desire for promoting parliamentary democracy and citizen participation in democratic processes.
